Oh man, what a sobering reminder of what the holidays are really about! I feel like a fraud a little be, because I am anything but frazzled. In fact, since getting out of retail five years ago, the holidays feel like a piece of cake (said by a girl who literally has to show up with a bottle of wine and everything else is done. Thanks, mom!) But, I realize not everyone is as lucky as me – someone who’s families decide against gifts and actually stick to it! So, if you’re to do list feels a mile long, if the holidays are stressing you out, if this is a time for grieving and not celebrating, if it feels more like work and less like joy, let this list ground you and remind you how to truly celebrate.
My friends, be the light. Be the light this holiday season! Lift up others, serve, bring joy, focus on the good, BE the light. There is so much good in this world and it’s easy to forget that with the way we are bombarded with the bad. I pray that this holiday weekend serves as a time of rest and reflection, of joy and jubilation, of bountiful blessings! I can’t wait to get home (for the second time since last Christmas) and be with my family. I pray that you are surrounded with love and presence.
Merry Christmas, my friends.
