I feel like I read so much fluff at the end of blog posts, how photographers sit and gush over their clients and write the same thing every single post, hoping no one will notice. Trust me, I notice those catch phrases strung together in an inauthentic way and I think it’s sad because each and every client deserves their own story to be told. As I left Dan + Lindsay’s amazing Madison home, I stopped and took a deep breath because I felt all of those cliche things that I read about all of the time. I felt so lucky, so blessed, so filled with joy, so thankful, and so absolutely smitten with these two who happen to be clients but are turning into friends. Call it cliche, call it want you want but I left their home that night feeling so deeply alive because I had just worked with two people who love each other, who are up for anything, and who are just so real and authentic that it pushes me to be the same. We played in the snow, we slid on the ice, we laughed like old friends, and we listened to Dan’s corny awesome jokes. The truth is, people will come and go in this industry. You will have clients who just want a photographer and you will have clients that become dear friends. It’s the name of the game and how the cycle works… but that feeling when I left their home knowing that the latter was true is something that I hope I never lose. I am so thankful for people like Dan and Lindsay, who believe in a marriage over a wedding, who are following their vision as their plan their event, who love their friends and family deeply, and who are all about one heck of a celebration centered around love and good music. Can I get an amen? This session sums up a lot about why I do what I do, I hope these photos speak volumes: volumes about me as a photographer but even more volumes of how incredibly real my clients are and how beautifully in love they are! Cheers!
