We were walking back towards the end of the party when Lindsey said, “It’s safe to say that the biggest thing we are is thankful.” What words to hear from a radiant bride on such a day! Truly, she meant every word of it and that sentence right there was the foundation of their brunch wedding day. With the warmest Wisconsin weather April had witnessed and on amazing couple, we felt the sun on our faces as we documented one of the most beautiful of love stories. Pete and Lindsey’s day was a lot of things: it was a mixing of cultures, the start to a marriage, a time to celebrate community from all walks of life, and a day centered on gratefulness. They truly planned a marriage more beautiful than their wedding (which is hard to believe after scrolling through those photos, am I right?)
I knew these two would throw a great party, from their strong affinity to family and friends to their love of a relaxed atmosphere, the sweet surprise gifts to one another to the matching striped socks on the groomsmen’s feet. Each piece of their day showed their personalities. To say that these two were made for one another would be the understatement of the century. They are smart, beautiful, genuine, real, and up for anything sort of people. Over the course of the day I would catch little whispers to each other and the theme rang true, they were so thankful, having a blast, and smitten with the fact that they were finally husband and wife. Truth be told, the sunny day was even more perfect because it was spent with Pete and Lindsey and the families that came together as one in support of what will be a long, happy, healthy marriage.
