Before I switched to a non-toxic makeup routine, my bathroom cabinets and drawers had seen a lot of different products come and go over the years. If I had a complete tally of the money I’ve spent on all the makeup and skincare products I’ve purchased and used over the years, I know my bank account would give me major side-eye.
I was desperate for products that actually worked without irritating my skin and that I could use no matter what scenario I was in! Since I was on camera and stage often, I wanted to look and feel good in my skin. But, one by one, all of the products would exacerbate my skin issues and (eventually) end up in the trash or given away to a friend.
Admittedly, I was suuuper skeptical about ‘clean makeup’ because I was sure it wouldn’t work for me. I thought that non-toxic, clean foundation was for people with great skin who didn’t really need makeup in the first place! But, after a little boost of confidence from switching over my skincare routine to an entirely non-toxic line-up, I decided to give it a go — and I’m very glad I did.
When I tried Crunchi‘s foundation, I had to double-check that ingredients list. I was so used to companies greenwashing their products (aka making misleading claims about how clean it their products actually are). I couldn’t believe how GOOD it looked. So, as a girl who now loves a makeup-free day, you know how good a foundation has to look and feel for me to want to rave about it! Why I Switched to a Non-Toxic Makeup Routine
Throughout my life, I’ve never had ‘perfect’ skin (whatever that really means) and have always browsed the skincare and beauty aisles feeling desperate for anything that could help me heal my skin. When I started trying to get pregnant and also experiencing multiple losses, my skin entered a whole new realm of complicated. Hyperpigmentation, texture, and overall dullness really made me want to hide my face — and in my line of work, that’s just not possible.
So, I put in the work to help my skin heal from multiple angles: I worked on my nutrition, fueling myself differently based on the signals my body was giving me (which is why I am GF now, and my body is happier than ever). And I also decided to toss the products that weren’t delivering on any of the promises I read on their labels. I took my time transitioning my skincare first and then I started to explore the all-natural makeup world. Luckily, I didn’t have to look for long when someone recommended Crunchi to me!

My Honest Review of Crunchi Foundation
I remember the first day I tried Crunchi’s non-toxic foundation. I applied their primer first, and I could already tell I was using a product that over-delivers. It just sunk right in and I felt so fresh, light, and not sticky or too mattified. It genuinely feels like heaven on your skin. Then, I swiped on the foundation and I knew (you know when you know!) I looked in the mirror, a little in shock, like am I about to be my own glam squad from now on? Frankly, I barely let it sink into my skin before I snapped a selfie and texted it to the friend who recommended it to me. I couldn’t believe how amazing it felt on my skin!
Here’s one of the biggest reasons I loved Crunchi’s non-toxic foundation from day one: the products feel like skincare more than makeup. It doesn’t feel like I’m applying this sealed-in barrier to my skin. I never enjoyed that cakey feeling most foundations give you, but I just accepted it as a part of what comes with full coverage. The Crunchi Foundation makes me look airbrushed, but feels like my skin can breathe! I’ve been known to scrape every last drop out of the bottles (which in my experience lasts a few months)!
As a big added bonus, I don’t need to use very much of it at all to achieve a full-coverage look. And it’s the only natural makeup I’ve tried that has buildable coverage, meaning if you need more coverage, you can achieve that by layering it up. Bonus: I can confidently say that this foundation lasts all day. I’m not talking about a chill day, or even a day where I’m mostly working at my desk or hopping on and off Zoom calls. It even lasts through my workouts… and I’m NOT one of those lucky people who barely sweat!
My confidence is boosted big time because I feel ready for the day, no matter what’s on the schedule, while still feeling like myself. I love that I can see myself shine through when I wear this foundation. I don’t want to feel like I’m essentially wearing a mask; I want to enhance who and what I already am!

I know it’s hard to want change and take those small steps toward it, but you know what makes it a whole lot easier? Products that work, companies that care, and price tags that aren’t out of this world. I’ve tested and tried a ton of Crunchi’s line-up and I’ve got a very high standard.
