We talk a lot about what to DO to grow–-what to post, what to sell, what strategy to follow—but the truth is, none of that matters if your mindset isn’t in the right place.

The biggest transformations usually don’t start with a checklist. They start with a belief, a shift, or a single moment where you realize: “Oh… maybe it doesn’t have to be this way.”

This episode is filled with those moments.

I’ve pulled together 5 of the most powerful mindset shifts ever shared on the Goal Digger Podcast, straight from some of our most impactful guests. These are the beliefs and inner scripts that changed everything for them, and they just might change everything for you, too.

If you’re starting something new, stuck in self-doubt, or just need a reminder that your brain can be your biggest asset (not your biggest roadblock!), this is for you!

Mel Robbins: Letting Go of Control to Reclaim Your Peace

Mel Robbins shared one of the most liberating mindset shifts I’ve ever heard. It’s called the Let Them Theory, and it’s built around the idea that we waste so much energy trying to manage how others perceive us.

When you accept that you can’t control what people think, you free yourself up to focus on what actually matters, your own alignment and peace.

Mel explains that when you let others have their opinions, judgments, or misunderstandings without trying to correct or manage them, you reclaim the time and energy you’ve been unknowingly giving away.

The phrase “let them” is more than a dismissal. It’s a declaration that your energy is better spent on your values, your goals, and your joy.

Trent Shelton: Peace Begins When You Choose Principles Over People

Trent Shelton’s perspective on protecting your peace starts with one simple question: are you more loyal to other people’s opinions or your own principles?

This mindset shift encourages us to recognize how often we let criticism and expectations dictate our actions. Instead, Trent encourages us to define a set of guiding principles that help us stay true to who we are and how we want to live.

He shared how his own mission—one rooted in honoring a promise to a late friend—became bigger than any fear or opinion.

For him, peace isn’t the absence of chaos. It’s knowing that even in the chaos, you’re anchored by something bigger than others’ reactions.

Trent’s reminder that people often project their own fears onto us was the permission slip we all need to stop shrinking and start showing up.

Jamie Kern Lima: Confidence Is Built, But Worthiness Is Who You Are

Jamie Kern Lima brought clarity to a struggle many of us don’t even realize we’re having. We chase success, approval, or perfection, thinking that when we finally arrive, we’ll feel enough. But what we’re really doing is building confidence without ever addressing self-worth.

She made a powerful distinction between the two. Confidence is external, often tied to performance and comparison. Self-worth, on the other hand, is your unshakable belief that you are worthy of love, belonging, and purpose exactly as you are.

Your self-worth doesn’t rise and fall with your metrics or milestones… It is the foundation underneath everything else.

If you’ve ever found yourself achieving more but still feeling like it’s not enough, Jamie’s story and insights will speak directly to your heart.

To hear more about how she built her own self-worth on her journey from waitress to multi-million-dollar founder, check out Episode 751!

Vasavi Kumar: Rewrite the Script by Speaking to Yourself Out Loud

When Vasavi Kumar joined me on the podcast, she introduced a self-talk strategy that might just change the way you speak to yourself forever. Rather than keeping your thoughts swirling in your head, she encourages you to say them out loud. Why?

Because hearing your inner dialogue helps you become aware of it, challenge it, and rewrite it in real time.

Vasavi shared that we’re not born criticizing ourselves. Those voices are learned, and the good news is, they can be unlearned.

She walked us through her own experience of transforming the voice in her head from a critic to a coach… and how that shift helped her land on the cover of a major magazine just by boldly asking for it.

If you want to feel more confident in your voice and start using your words to move yourself forward, you’ll love Vasavi’s full interview in Episode 663.

Jen Gottlieb: Confidence Is Just a Series of Kept Promises

Jen Gottlieb has a gift for making you feel like anything is possible.

Her mindset shift around confidence hit me hard because it’s not about being born with it… It’s about building it one tiny promise kept at a time.

She encourages us to stop waiting until we “feel” ready and instead take action with fear still in the room. Every time you do the thing you said you would, even when it’s hard or uncomfortable, you’re depositing coins in your “confidence bank.”

Eventually, those deposits build trust in yourself, and that trust becomes the foundation of real confidence.

She also shared her favorite practice, the “badass list,” where you write down moments in your life when you were proud of yourself and revisit them whenever imposter syndrome creeps in.

Final Thoughts

There you have it: Five experts, five perspectives, five mindset shifts that could change the way you work, rest, and dream.

Aren’t you feeling so fired up right now?!

If your mindset wasn’t already shifting before, I bet something cracked open during one of those clips.

Maybe it was Mel’s reminder to let them think what they want, or Jamie’s truth bomb about self-worth being your ceiling.

Maybe it was Vasavi giving you permission to own your voice, or Trent reminding you that peace is the real flex.

Or maybe, like Jen said, you’re just ready to start putting coins in your confidence bank… one bold move at a time.

Wherever today’s episode met you, I hope you walk away with one big mindset shift you’re ready to live out.

So here’s your challenge: pick one of these shifts that really stuck with you, and live it out this week. Write it on a Post-it, journal about it, practice it in real conversations. Let it move from a quote on a podcast to a belief in your bones!
