It could have happened years ago, their paths crossing but instead it took a lot longer than expected (and rightfully so.) McKenzie and Alex grew up in the same town, knew the same people, and went to the same school. Only thing was, Alex was two years younger than McKenzie and the stars hadn’t aligned just yet. Years later, they connected at a local bar (the same one where McKenzie’s parents met) and things just started to click. After a night of chatting, text messages were exchanged to set up their next meeting and I guess you could say, the rest was history. These two compliment one another in so many ways, from the way they love to laugh to their mutual adoration for their friends and family. When I heard about their beautiful (and laid-back) backyard wedding plans, I was thrilled to be a part of their wedding day and the start of their lives as husband and wife.
Every moment of their day was a true reflection of their relationship. Guests laughed throughout their light-hearted ceremony, filled their cups with beer, their plates with barbecue and macaroni and cheese (I was in heaven!) and danced the night away! From bonfires to a BYOT (bring your own tent) invite, the laid-back vibe followed through in every sense of the way for their big day. One of the best parts of my job is capturing people just as they are, these two share a joy so that is contagious, laughs that make your belly hurt, and a love that makes you know that their paths crossed when they were meant to – when the stars had aligned and they are were ready for love.
