5: iphone apps

•

this whole 5 series has been a long standing one. it has been a great way to share little tidbits with you and limit my options in what i deliver.  i love the idea of looking back through all of the posts and seeing where this series has gone: from books to holiday cheers, first looks to random facts about me. this series is a fun one and today i am excited to share a few of my favorite apps that i use daily… well, five of them to be exact. it has taken some trial and error to find my faves and whenever i go to delete an app, the shaking icons make me feel like they are panicked over who’s getting cut from the team. well, here are the select winners.

1.) clear: it is a really cute way to create color coordinated to-do lists and organizes your lists in a clean aesthetically pleasing way. it makes the things that need to get done look less intimidating and frankly quite pretty. if you are a list writer, consider getting this app. even though i don’t always put my lists into my phone, when i do, it is into this little app. plus it makes an awesome sound when you cross something off with the swipe of your finger!

2.) vine: i don’t use this as much as i would like but this video app came out last month and it is super fun. it takes 6 minutes of video and loops them. to shoot a video you just hold your thumb down so you can take a ton of snaps in the 6 second timeframe or just one long video. i love capturing life beyond photos and we all know dog videos never get old! this adds more than just a face to your business, it adds movement and life. want to follow me? find me on vine: jennakutcher.

3.) nike training: i love love this app. whenever i travel i use it! since i go to crossfit monday-friday i am used to getting up and moving. this app has all kinds of awesome workouts and can seriously get your butt moving wherever you are. i love the “get focused” workouts where you can hone in on different muscle groups! you can put your music to the workout and they have mini videos to show you each move. if you aren’t a gym rat, consider getting this free app – it is seriously amazing.

4.) bible app: this is a great thing to have on your phone. i have really been challenging myself to get into the word daily and having it at my finger tips means that i have zero excuse not to. my sweet friend, meg, told me about “she reads truth” and it is a reading plan for women to use as daily devotionals. it is a great way to start my day and an awesome tool to have on your phone. what a way to get lessons for life delivered through your trusty iphone! download this app and then get on the “she reads truth” reading plan, need accountability? just ask.

5.) pandora: if you are anything like me you are an eclectic music listener. i love having pandora on my phone to provide a mix of tunes for my day. part of my routine is playing good music while i work, it helps me keep in my groove, sing a little, and diligently work unlike tv that can really distract me. i love pandora and enjoy mixing up the stations based on my mood. a few of my favorite pandora stations: the head and the heart, the lumineers, shawn mcdonald, norah jones, florence + the machine, need to breathe and beyonce.

i’d love to know: what apps can you not live with you? which ones have changed your life?
