After getting off of an amazing vacation and back to the grind (ahem, it’s 1AM and I am just finishing this blog post) I am so happy that I am an entrepreneur that calls home the office. Seriously, there is no place like home. I can’t wait to share about our St. Lucian adventures, the people we met, the things we saw, the places we went. Until then, I am hoping to make you feel just a little more normal, if you call your couch your desk and if you work for the ultimate boss (yourself!) Taking a week away from emails, phone calls, Skype dates, and sessions, I am ready to dive back into work and am excited to get back into the daily grind. (Really, the fact that I love what I do so much is crazy.) Seriously, there are definite perks and disadvantages to this whole thing and here are ten ways you know you are an entrepreneur. So nod your head yes, fill up that coffee mug, and let’s show Wednesday who’s boss. You ready? You know you are an entrepreneur when…
1.) You would rather work 60 hours for yourself, than 40 hours for someone else.
2.) Your work uniform resembles yesterdays work out clothes and wearing jeans is considered “dressing up.”
3.) You shower in the middle of the day and don’t know if you should get dressed or put on your pjs.
4.) 401ks, vacation time, IRAs, benefits packages and sicks days sound foreign to you, but you have the quarterly sales tax days memorized.
5.) The most human interaction you have in a day is with your pet dogs… yeah, we don’t get out much.
6.) People stop asking you what your weekend plans are, because they assume you will be working.
7.) You have a list of Netflix marathons that you watch while you work so you don’t feel so alone.
8.) Your Instagram makes it look like you live a glamorous life but in reality you are a stay at home mom without kids.
9.) You schedule naps into your day just because you can.
10.) You throw office parties of one after a big event, submission, or email… grab a beer, celebrate, it’s you and only you.
Alright, tell me I’m not alone! What’s your favorite part of being an entrepreneur. Fill a sister is (and make me feel more human.)
Haha love this. Especially #10.
I booked my third wedding today and promptly text my husband.
Me: I think we should celebrate tonight. Booking a wedding is a big deal.
Him: Yea that sounds good, but I have to work tomorrow so what did you have in mind?
Me: I was thinking more along the lines of cupcakes. Maybe with a sparkler.
Him: Oh. Yea, we can definitely do that!
I thought that was a pretty fancy celebration haha apparently not. I mean, I have work to do tonight but I can pause long enough to eat a cupcake haha.
