Scott texted me at 7:37AM on their wedding day telling me he had a little secret. He had snuck their pup into the hotel to surprise Erika after they walked down the aisle and husband and wife. It wouldn’t be a celebration if their family was incomplete and so Bubba the black lab hid out until they were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Waehler. They had met back in college. Scott knew it would be different this time around when him and Erika started seeing each other out. Slowly he worked up the nerve to ask her out and some would say the rest is history.
She has this smile that pulls you in you and is contagious. He is goofy, hilarious, an incredible friend, and now a loving husband. Together, they don’t take themselves too seriously. When she cries, he makes her laugh, when he gets too excited, she calms him down. They are the ying and the yang to each other and on Saturday they promised vows (and that she would say, “it’s okay” when the Packers lose) in front of their family and friends at The Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva. It was the perfect day for two people who vowed to spend an imperfect forever together and it was the most beautiful finale to my 2015 wedding season. We stayed and enjoyed wine and danced the night away, because life is too short to not live it up.
