One of the best and worst parts of being a photographer is spending a fleeting, incredible, perfect day along side a couple and their families and then never getting to hang out (and tear up the dance floor) with them again. It’s a whirlwind day when you’re invited into some truly intimate and special moments and then it’s suddenly gone. I always want to cling to the moments, to my clients, to their families and I sometimes dream of being invited into their lives for every great milestone and maybe for a few family meals. After seeing them vulnerable, emotional, excited, giddy, and joyful all in one day, it’s easy to feel connected to them forever. One wedding day just isn’t enough, the relationship must continue.
Two years ago I photographed Matt’s sister’s wedding and next May I get to be there when he marries his love, Casey. I remember meeting them at Brandon and Kristina’s wedding, I remember thinking, “dang, someday I hope I get to be a part of their day.” They have this sort of effortless love, playfulness, joy filled attitudes that leave the world a little happier. From the very beginning of our time together, I knew this session would be a chart topper. Their ease, their love, they effortlessness, it all added into the way they made one another feel (and if you could have heard the things I were saying as I watched them interact, you would have died.) They met in the weight room in high school. He played baseball, she played softball (their lifting coach takes credit for their romance.) Last week we lived up to their future last name “Golden” and captured some truly golden moments for them. Thank you Wisconsin for a stunning sunset, thank you God for another chance to capture this families memories.

These pictures are amazing! You truly did capture many “Golden” moments!
