Ready for a dose of real talk and a peek into my life offline? Join me on today’s episode of Goal Digger as I pull back the curtain on the exhilarating world of juggling mom and CEO life!
I haven’t recorded a personal episode in awhile and since you haven’t been seeing my kiddos faces on social media for months, I wanted to share where I’m at on the journey of raising humans and running a business.
It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, laughter, and wisdom – because being a mompreneur is both a challenge and a blessing!
Hit play, grab your favorite drink, and let’s chat about some of the BIG things that happened in my family’s life this year.
Embracing the Blink-and-You-Miss-It Moments
As a mom, I’ve come to realize just how true the cliches are. Time flies, and our little ones grow up so fast. It’s important to cherish every moment and not take anything for granted.
Transitioning to a New Home
Moving into our dream home was a huge milestone for our family. It was a bittersweet experience, leaving behind the memories of our old house, but also exciting to create new memories in our new space.
Deciding to Complete our Family
Making the decision to stop growing our family was a significant moment for us. It was a process of reflection and understanding what felt right for us. We feel complete with our two beautiful girls and are excited about the future.
Transitioning to Full-Day School
Our oldest daughter, Coco, transitioned to full-day school this year. It was a big decision, and we had some concerns, but it has been a positive experience for her. We’re also navigating when to start our youngest, Quinn, and considering what feels right for her.
Embracing Outside Help
This year, we finally embraced the idea of getting reliable outside help. Hiring a nanny who also assists with household tasks has been a game-changer. It has allowed us to have more time for ourselves, our marriage, and our individual well-being.
Transitioning to Privacy
I made the decision to stop sharing my children’s faces online. It was a personal choice that felt right for our family. It has allowed us to create a more private and intimate space for our children while still sharing aspects of motherhood.
The Mother Load
Balancing the mental load of being a mom and a CEO has been a challenge. The constant thinking, planning, and juggling can be overwhelming. I’m learning to let go of control and trust my instincts while also finding ways to alleviate the load.
Special One-on-One Time
Creating special one-on-one time with each of my children has been a priority. It allows us to connect on a deeper level and create lasting memories. Whether it’s a simple activity at home or a little getaway, these moments are invaluable.
Reparenting Myself
I recently started therapy, and it has been a transformative experience. It has allowed me to reflect on my own childhood and understand how it shapes my parenting. I’m learning to heal generational trauma and provide a nurturing environment for my children.
Honoring Uniqueness
Each of my children is unique, and I’m learning to honor their individuality. They have different energies, emotions, and communication styles. Parenting them requires adapting and understanding their distinct needs.
Learning More About My Kids
Exploring tools like human design and Enneagrams has helped me understand my children better. It allows me to support their passions, creativity, and emotions in a way that aligns with their unique personalities.
In conclusion, motherhood is a journey filled with ups and downs, challenges, and beautiful moments. As a CEO and a mom, I’m constantly learning and growing. It’s a privilege to watch my children grow and to be their mom.
I’m endlessly grateful for the support, the lessons, and the love that motherhood brings… and I’m grateful for YOU for listening! Thanks for being here, Goal Digger.
