I shared Matt and Karen’s stunning wedding day on the blog last week, it was a day that was full of laughter, epic dance moves, and people who I couldn’t love more. Matt is like an older brother to me, so capturing the day that he married the love of his life was nothing short of a treat. I had packed all my gear and threw in my tripod just in case. The night before their wedding we were all out enjoying margaritas on a St. Paul rooftop when I asked Matt if they had anyone filming their wedding. He shook his head and said “no.” Then my wheels got turning and I knew I wanted to at least catch glimpses of what their wedding day was made up of so that years down the road, they could be brought back to that special day.
I know I look crazy when I am shooting photos and video alone – I get it. I am also the first to admit that I am not a professional videographer, just someone who appreciates the art and think that the craft is precious. Here I am, a chick with a camera on her neck, one on a tripod, and enough gear to shoot an Olympic event. Guess what? It isn’t about me and I laugh as I watch people’s perplexed faces as I attempt to do a little of everything in hopes of preserving such an amazing day! I didn’t catch every moment, I wasn’t consumed with video, but I did catch enough to give the world a little peek into the amazing day that Matt and Karen had and I am kind of smitten with the way this video tells their gorgeous wedding story! Now just hit play (and then watch it a few more times) because we all need an extra smile on Monday mornings!
