It’s almost here, February, which for us means a little getaway. This will be our sixth time fleeing for February and we booked our trip with little time to spare, the destination this year? HAWAII! We talked a lot about how we wanted to celebrate what will be our fifth year of marriage and we felt like so many people left Hawaii on their bucket lists for too long, we figured that life is short and we should get to the island sooner than later. In a few short weeks we will be on our way to Maui and we couldn’t be more excited! Since we were dating, we knew we wanted to keep travel a priority. We made a “no excuses, play like a champion” rule about escaping every February for some R&R, time away from work, and some reconnection as a couple (oh, and a little time to lay in the sun and drink a margarita!)
Once February swings around we know we have nothing booked other than some time together with one another and THAT is the best feeling ever. We haven’t had time to book solid plans for our time on the island but so far on the list is: the road to Hana, swimming with the sea turtles, going on a whale scouting adventure, and maybe I can even talk Drew into trying surfing just once! Beyond all those lovely excursions, I know I want to spend a few days laying on the beach, reading books, and napping (you can’t forget the napping!) We are so excited to escape the bitter cold together and are majorly looking forward to crossing this beautiful destination off of our bucket lists! napili is the best beach in all of hawaii. the gazebo is an amazing restaurant for breakfast on the point of napili bay, but you have to be there WELL before it opens or you’ll never get in. it’s tiny, but amazing. great view, great food, best beach.
We are also headed to Maui in February, for our Honeymoon. Small world! 🙂 On our list of things to do are: The road to Hana & Hiking Ohe’o Gulch/Seven Sacred Pools (I hear it’s gorgeous), Biking down Haleakala and stopping at Komoda Bakery for the BEST donuts on the island, and a Luau on the beach! (Insert swimming, beach laying, reading, and sun soaking at any point). Have fun! Maybe we’ll bump into each other while we’re there.
