The desire to work from home is not a new trend, but it has undoubtedly increased during the pandemic, particularly among women. A FlexJobs and Mental Health America survey in 2021 revealed that 40% of women who worked remotely due to the pandemic wished to continue working from home full-time in the future. Another study by McKinsey & Company in 2020 found that women were more likely than men to have switched to remote work during the pandemic, with 27% of women working remotely compared to 19% of men.

The benefits of working from home for women include greater flexibility, reduced commuting time, increased productivity, cost savings, and improved work-life balance. However, there are downsides to remote work, such as isolation, lack of structure, distractions at home, the blurring of work and personal life, and limited career advancement opportunities.

Therefore, it’s crucial to weigh the benefits and downsides of remote work when considering whether it’s the right choice for you. While some women thrive in a remote work environment, others may prefer the structure and social interaction of a traditional office setting.

If you’re interested in exploring remote work and you know it’s right for you, I’ll share 10 options to explore in this episode, so press play for the full discussion.
