This off season continues to remain super full – but full of projects that are outside of my normal realm of bouquets and high heels, flowers and veils. One of my main goals was to find inspiration in places that I didn’t normally shoot… the gym? Well, yeah, it’s full of inspiration. It’s been fun to document our gyms journey as we navigate our way through The Open – a series of workouts leading up to the CrossFit Games that you might have watched on ESPN. It’s a fun way to see where you rank in the world and it’s a huge bonding experience for athletes and supporters alike. The gym fills with people, the energy is undeniable, and we put ourselves through some grueling challenges all before we head out for a drink to celebrate. This year I am participating both as a competitor and a documenter! It’s been such a fun challenge and I couldn’t love these people more than I do. I’ve talked enough about CrossFit in the past, so in case you wanted to catch up on my journey of lifting heavy things with cool people, read: here.
I had to smile when about 20 of my friends changed their profile photos to my photos of them lifting heavy things and looking exceptionally hard core… most of the time I am thankful that no one is taking photos of the photographer because I know I look ridiculously awkward 90% of the time. Here is the 14.3 workout caught on film! (This is one of my favorite videos yet!) These video projects have been so much fun this off season, with each one I feel like I learn something new! What a fun way to document the madness that The CrossFit Open is – it’s pretty incredible!
You should stick around, I like you a lot. Keep reading by clicking a link below:
It would be so cool to see these photos and videos in our gym! I love when you post the photos, but the videos making the photographic experience that much better.
