30 weddings in 2014. 30 beautiful couples to celebrate with. 30 marriages captured at the very beginning. 60 families molding together. 100’s of bridesmaids and groomsmen looking good. 30 sets of wedding vows exchanged. 1 mountain hiked. 30 beautiful wedding dresses. 30 excited grooms. 10 engagement sessions. 1 birth. 6 families. 8 dogs. 5 babies. Countless iPhone photos. 2 destination weddings. Countless times I would promise I would cut back, numerous times I couldn’t say no to a love story. I’ve been living through your love stories these last six months and now it’s time to live in my own.
My wedding season ends tomorrow (minus one last minute, beautiful soiree in San Francisco in three weeks!) I can’t even begin to put into words how I feel right now. It is the most bittersweet feeling of the century thinking about wrapping up such an epic and transformative year. I have shared in the most wonderful of days with clients. I have laughed, cried, hugged, and celebrated with countless couples and their families and I have fallen in love with what I do weekend after weekend. I have spent endless hours behind a computer screen editing and blogging with a pup curled up in my lap and wrinkles forming on my face from all of the smiles. I have spent my Saturdays with couples who I love with my whole heart. I have poured myself into other’s love stories in hopes of creating heirlooms to be passed down for generations. I have also spent countless weekends away from my family, missing weekends at the lake with friends, or time at the cabin with family. I have turned down invites for concerts, weddings, and parties in order to share in some of the most epic love stories I have ever witnessed. I have found my groove in this industry. I was named the “Best” wedding photographer in Wisconsin by Wisconsin Bride Magazine. I published my 600th blog post. I opened a watercolor print shop and collaborated with some incredible brands. I slept, cried, laughed, and lived in this world 24/7 these last six months and the fact that it is all coming to a close on Saturday makes me weak in the knees.
This year has been my best one yet. This year has been shared with the truest of hearts. This year has been my year, a year I am so proud of. This year has been transformative and an important part of my story. This year has been filled with milestones and peaks, along with a few valleys. To call this my job is something I pray I never take for granted, I truly have designed a life I love, and you, beautiful people, are a piece of this story. Thank you for your love, thank you for your support, thank you for choosing me and trusting me with the most precious of memories. I can’t believe it’s coming to an end, I can’t believe this is it. Tomorrow I get to celebrate with Amanda and Steve and dance the night away with my handsome husband as we cheers at the end of the night to one hell of a year and one beautiful/crazy/busy/exciting wedding season. It has been nothing short of an honor to tell all of your love stories, now I get to take some time to live presently in mine.

Ohhh Jenna, it is always impossible for me to pick ONE piece that I want! As I’ve told you before, if I bought everything I want from your shop I wouldn’t be able to buy groceries 🙂 If I had to narrow it down to just one piece though, I’d choose the “Home is Wherever I’m with You” framed art print.
