Wow guys, I don’t even know what to say. First and foremost, TGIF! This week was a crazy one and to sum it up in words is impossible, needless to say, wedding season is officially underway starting tomorrow. I have 26 weddings in 24 weeks, so you do the math – I’ll be one busy little bee over here and though the hustle will be real, I am hoping to get outside and enjoy a bit of summer with friends and family (and hopefully a lake too!) It’s bittersweet kicking off wedding season, each and every year things get a little easier. I form a system and become a well oiled machine!
My home becomes a place where I pack and unpack gear, spend hours editing in bed, and nights pouring over information, schedules, and worksheets. Drew becomes the guy who nurses my (non-alcoholic) Sunday hangover and makes be breakfast in bed and my life becomes filled with images of amazing days and incredible people. It’s a rush getting back into what I love to do but it’s something that takes my entire attention to execute well and so, world, things might be a little different around here.
I started my print shop only three weeks ago and I am blown away by everything having to do with it. I have been asked to be featured on numerous blogs, (stay tuned for fun giveaways!) create invites for styled shoots, sell custom prints for big brands and have I sold more prints than I have ever dreamed possible. It has been such a fun endeavor and a great distraction from my time staring at a screen. I try to paint daily and even though a fraction of my work makes it to the shop, I am so thankful for the continued support from people I love and respect, while I chase my little passion of creating things with a paintbrush. I’ve been working on some new florals (shown below) that will be entering super soon, so stay tuned!
This leads me to the print of the week: Home is where the pants aren’t. Okay, this is hilarious to me on so many levels (I have weird humor, I know.) When we are out somewhere that requires real clothing (i.e. jeans) we literally race to the closet to slip into sweats upon arriving home. I also live in yoga pants 90% of my life and it’s pretty much prom when I put jeans on to go somewhere. So this weeks print is one of my favorites and I think your home needs a little humor too, what do you say?
