3 Healthy Habits to Transform Your Daily Routine in 2025

Life has a way of feeling busier with every passing year, doesn’t it? Between work, family, friends, and the endless to-do lists, our days can feel like a constant rush. That’s why I’ve learned to simplify my daily habits. For me, it’s not just about saving time (although that’s a huge win); it’s about creating space—space for the things that truly matter and bring me joy.

I’ve learned that when habits are simple, they’re sustainable. They don’t feel like a mountain you have to climb every day. Instead, they blend into your life effortlessly, helping you feel more balanced, intentional, and in control. The beauty of simplicity is that it removes the mental clutter. You’re no longer juggling a hundred different “shoulds” and “musts.” Instead, you’re focusing on what works, what feels good, and what truly makes an impact.

For me, simplicity is also about consistency. A habit or routine that feels overwhelming often leads to burnout or abandonment. I might as well call it a ‘stress routine’ at that point, right? But when you pare things down to the essentials—what genuinely serves your well-being—you create habits you can stick to for the long haul. The result? Real transformation, not just quick fixes.

As we head into 2025, I’m leaning all the way into this idea. My routines aren’t just practical—they’re joyful! They aren’t perfect, but they’re perfectly designed for me. If you’ve ever felt like your daily habits are a source of stress instead of a source of calm, this is your reminder: simple doesn’t mean less effective. Simple means achievable, repeatable, and freeing

Let’s let go of the pressure to do it all and instead embrace the power of doing what matters most. These three habits I’m carrying into 2025 are changing everything for me—and they can for you, too.

1. Habits that Take Care of My Skin

Taking care of my skin is about so much more than just wanting a clear complexion—it’s about healing myself from the inside out and the outside in. Over the years, I’ve come to see skincare (and even make-up!) as a way to nurture and protect my body while giving myself a moment of intentional self-care. My journey to find products that truly worked—and were non-toxic—wasn’t an easy one. I wanted make-up and skincare I could trust, with ingredients that were as safe as they were effective.

Whether it’s choosing an alcohol-free lifestyle to sharpen my clarity, finding joy in movement, or nourishing my body with what it truly needs, I’m honoring the incredible ways my body supports me and allowing it to thrive so it can keep showing up for me—and for everything and everyone I love.

Maintaining Alcohol-Free Living

I started this journey on a whim, feeling a quiet yet growing voice inside me asking me to explore what it would look like to shift away from alcohol. I felt more curious about it more than anything, and the results were honestly incredible. As much as I liked my usual spicy mezcal, I liked even more the kind of feeling I got leaving them behind. I felt clearer, slept better, and gained much more energy. My brain felt like it ‘came online’ a bit more easily every day. Why stop there? Prioritizing My Health Routine

From regular workouts to nourishing meals, my health is my top priority. As always, I am hesitant to call it a ‘health journey’ because I think that can conjure up an image that feels too narrow — ‘health’ can look different for everyone! So, I kind of call it my ‘learning how to best support my personal existence’ journey. I’ve built a routine I can stick to, and I share all the details here.

3. Habits that Take Care of My Mind

Taking care of my mind has taken on a whole new meaning since learning I have ADHD. My diagnosis wasn’t just a revelation—it was a permission slip to better understand and honor how my brain works. It’s allowed me to explore new ways of carving out space and setting boundaries that help my creative mind truly flourish. I’ve realized that my brain craves learning, challenges, and novelty, and while I fulfill so much of that through my workflow and the adventure of growing my business, I’ve also discovered the joy of finding excitement and inspiration outside of work. Whether it’s diving into a great book, experimenting with a new hobby, or simply creating space to rest and recharge, these intentional practices have become essential to my mental well-being and have helped me embrace the beautifully unique way my mind works.

Maintaining a Hobby

Having hobbies outside of work and family life keeps me grounded. Whether it’s gardening, baking sourdough, or playing on the swing set with my kids, I love creating moments that are just for me. It’s okay to be a beginner—read more here.

Books are my escape and my teacher. From fiction to non-fiction, I’m always reading something. I’m all about books that pull me in and keep me hooked from start to finish—no matter the genre.

3 Quick Tips for Simple, Effective Habits and Routines

As someone with ADHD, I know firsthand how easy it is to unintentionally overcomplicate things—whether it’s out of excitement, stress, or even boredom. Trust me, I’ve been there, mapping out elaborate plans and then feeling overwhelmed when it’s time to follow through. If you’re someone who struggles to keep routines simple and effective, I get it. That’s why I’ve created this quick checklist to help you stay grounded and resolved to have habits that work for you, too! These tips are designed to keep your routines straightforward, sustainable, and actually enjoyable—so you can avoid burnout and focus on what truly matters.

  1. Start Small: Focus on one habit at a time to avoid overwhelm. Soon, you can find ways that they overlap and link them together, like “learning more” and “baking more” can become “Listening to a mind-growing podcast while I prep the sourdough.” 
  2. Find What Works for You: Choose routines you genuinely enjoy, so they feel less like a chore (because those chores will find you and pile up anyway! Don’t add to ’em.)
  3. Celebrate Consistency: Progress matters more than perfection. Small, steady steps add up. Remind yourself of this one as often as you need it!

Think of your routines as a way of taking care of you, not just a checklist to get through. When your habits align with your values and goals, they become a source of strength, peace, and fulfillment.

Whether it’s a skincare ritual that feels like a love letter to your body, a health habit that energizes you, or a creative outlet that feeds your soul, let your routines be your anchor.You deserve to live a life that feels good—not just on paper, but in your heart and mind. Explore what a more simplified, authentic routine could look like for you.
