“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.”
one of my greatest blessings of being in the corporate world came in the form of friends… and their kids. since i am in absolutely no rush to have my own kiddos, i have quickly become auntie jenna to an adorable three year old, carter, and his little brother, miles. so, as carters birthday approached i asked him what kind of cake he would like and whipped up a chocolate cake complete with an array of m&ms for decor. don’t worry cake decorators, i stunk at it so you have some fabulous job security. here are five life lessons carter taught me in the course of one hour with the birthday boy…

five life lessons from a three year old:
1.) every dog is a “boy” because it’s easier to say, “come here boy!”
2.) you must stop and make quick wishes before blowing out the candles.
3.) you can re-light the candles three times, since you are now three years old. hello, more wishes!
4.) when it rains outside, stick your face in the window and watch.
5.) you can see a lot more of the world on top of someone’s shoulders, climb on up.
