She watched as her friends got married, started families, and she sat in a season of waiting. She prayed and prayed, asking God when it would be her turn, but he kept whispering, “Sara, my daughter, I have someone incredible for you. Trust me, believe me, it will all be worth the wait.” Sara pulled out her credit card and paid the $30 fee for an online dating service – turns out it was the best thirty dollars she’s ever spent because it led her to the one she had been waiting for, Eric.

Seeing them together, hand in hand, her head on his shoulder, you could never question the fact that the Lord had been preparing them both separately to join in a marriage bigger than the sum of their parts. With both of them having demanding schedules, careers, and aspirations, they have jumped through more hoops than most people will experience in a lifetime and yet in the gentle squeezes, the “I love you” texts, and the words of affirmation, they made it to the day they had long awaited: their wedding day. I think three words can sum this union up wholly: worth the wait.
