We woke up and the rain came down on the city streets of Chicago. Dreary? Perhaps. But nothing was going to put a damper on Alex and Ewelina’s wedding day. Instead of rain, I though of the world shaking a little wet confetti in celebration, because this day had been highly anticipated. Alex’s parents stepped off the elevator and into my arms with the warmest of hugs. His mom held me tight and whispered, “Today my baby gets married to an amazing girl!”

They met at a mutual friends party where they quickly realized that they were working for the same company, in the same department. Fate? Possibly. But I like to think that the universe was just shoving them into one another’s lives, because when you see them together, you can’t imagine them apart. Together with their sweet pup, Weasley, they’ve built a life and now, they’ve built a marriage. Celebrating with their friends and family in Chicago with the warmth of The University Club and the glow of the Chicago lights, they said “I do” and danced the night away as husband and wife.
