A 6AM wake up call? After a night of dining and drinks in the city? Say what? Yeah, I thought I was crazy, too, until I met these two at Starbucks on an empty Michigan Avenue and we set off to shoot some of my all time favorite images. I’ll be honest, in the winter I become a hermit. I love to stay on the couch, work under a pile of blankets, and stay home all day long. When Oriana found me through Instagram, she reached out about an engagement session. I absolutely love getting to Chicago but the timing was going to be tricky if we were going to capture the sort of storytelling images we wanted. A sunrise session it was and after a little jolt of coffee, we were off in a city that was still sleeping (and warm.) We started at the iconic Bean and worked our way through the city ending on snowy Lake Michigan with the city in the distance. There is just something about the snowy abyss of winter that can either drain us or inspire us… that day, it was exhilarating. Not only are Oriana and Adam a beautiful couple, they were up for just about anything and we laughed, talked, and posed our way through some stunning photos. Trust me, I don’t always welcome a 6AM wake up call on a Sunday  morning but these photos were completely and entirely worth it, one thousand times yes.
