Yesterday I hopped on a (way too early) flight to get to LA and then shuttled my way to Santa Barbara for the second annual Field Trip, a photography workshop hosted in Santa Barbara. It is just as it sounds, an adventure. Filled with tents, yurts, hikes, llamas, beaches, campfires, and some a lot of picture taking. If you remember, last year I went and it rained every day we were there (where was the California sunshine?) and my luggage arrived not-so fashionably late. It was a mud pit party with dancing until 2AM, loads of classes, handfuls of new friends, a few photo shoots, and a lot of rain.
So, why am I even more excited for this year? I get to speak at it! Say what? Guys, this is wild. There are some of the top photographers in the world. People gather from all over the world for this and I get to speak on a panel with some crazy awesome industry leaders from 100 Layer Cake and The Knot. I’ll be talking about what to post, how to share, get featured, what to blog, and who to collaborate in the industry. I am super excited and nervous and honored. Just one year ago I was in the student seats and now I get to share what I know with hundreds of talented folks. I told y’all this was my year and I think this is the beginning of anything. I am so pumped to be in California, so happy to be surrounded by passionate people, and even more excited to be in a little sunshine for a few days! This is insane, I am so excited to meet and teach and dance. Catch y’all on the flip side.
