Maybe it was the men’s a cappella singing of Ave Maria or the way the wedding party fit seamlessly together. It could have been in the way her dad reluctantly gave his “beloved, treasured, baby girl” away or in the swaying between him and his mom on the dance floor to a song she sang to him when he was a baby.
Maybe it was in the gentle hand squeezes when no one was looking or the practiced dance steps on the dock at sunset, it could have been the speeches that had us laughing and crying or in the filled dance floor full of crazy moves, or just maybe it was the way his mom hugged me and told me I was forever a part of their family… whatever it was it had me driving home in silence and basking in the fact that sharing in these moments is my “job” and that telling their stories is a part of mine. My job doesn’t suck, not in the least.
