As you read this I am on a flight to Puerto Rico by my lonesome. My bags are packed (full of swimsuits and gear) and I am likely smiling (or drooling on the person next to me on my flight.) I am so excited to escape the frigid cold and hit the beach for a week away in land I haven’t yet explored. Jessi and Blake have been planning this incredible trip for awhile and they are bringing friends and family to the beach to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. I will be spending the days documenting their love story and soaking up a few rays on the beach with my best friend, Mollie, who is the make up and hair artist for the big day!
Did you know that the first thing I ever photographed was a destination wedding in Jamaica? Yeah, I skipped the whole portrait hoopla and jumped right into wedding photography without caution. (Looking bad, I must have been a mad woman!) Thankfully my brother-in-laws photos turned out beautifully and thus my career as a wedding photographer had begun. I love shooting in new places, 2013 held a lot of firsts! I shot all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, in Seattle, Dallas, Jacksonville, and Punta Cana. Visiting new places inspires me and pushes me to the next level. This week will be one I have been looking forward to for a long time! I can’t wait to capture Jessi and Blake’s love story while basking in the new environment that includes sun, sand, and a whole lot of love! Stay tuned for some sunshine photos…
