I love learning about myself – I’m a sucker for just about every quiz out there that will tell me more about why I am the way I am or what type of ice cream I’d most likely be. Today’s topic is something brand new to my world and it’s something that totally caught my attention as a human who loves to dive deep.
What am I talking about? Human Design.
Manifesting Generator, Projector, Reflector… If you’ve heard these terms before, chances are you are at least somewhat familiar with Human Design. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat…
But don’t worry, this is NOT your mama’s personality quiz. In fact, it’s not a quiz at all!
Human Design is a spiritual technique to help you understand more about your personality, emotions, and energy centers. Much like astrological birth charts, Human Design is a system based on your exact time, date, and place of birth.
However, this information doesn’t just map where the planets were in the sky when you were born… Human Design also identifies personal body graph which can tell you things like the way you make decisions, your strongest sense, environments in which you thrive, your gifts and more.
If you think this is cool, then you’re going to LOVE my guest today. She’s basically the Human Design Queen – seriously, when you Google “Human Design,” Jenna Zoë’s website will pop up first!
Since Jenna discovered this tool 7 years ago, she has presented it through a lens of acceptance and kindness which has resonated with hundreds of thousands around the globe and turned it into a mainstream obsession.
Her main goal is to help people truly understand who they are, how they thrive, and how they function, so that they can spend their energy emphasizing their unique gifts and talents, rather than trying to be more like how they’re being conditioned to be.
It is seriously one of the coolest topics I’ve learned about this year, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
The 5 Human Design Energy Types
The first thing you look at in your chart is your Energy Type. There are five main types, and each has different ways of bringing in more opportunities and flow into their life.
Type 1: Manifestors are individuals who have the ability to initiate and make things happen. They are independent and self-directed, often having a strong sense of purpose and drive. Manifestors are trailblazers who can bring about change and create new opportunities. However, they may struggle with the need for autonomy and may have a tendency to be impulsive. By embracing their energy type, manifestors can harness their power to manifest their desires and lead with confidence.
Type 2: Manifesting Generators are a combination of manifestors and generators. They have a similar ability to initiate and make things happen, but also possess the energy and stamina of generators. Manifesting generators are multi-passionate and thrive when they are engaged in multiple projects or activities at once. They have a natural ability to juggle various responsibilities and excel in environments that allow for flexibility and adaptability. By embracing their energy type, manifesting generators can embrace their unique ability to create and manifest their desires while staying true to their energetic flow.
Type 3: Generators are those who have a sustainable and consistent energy source. They are the doers and the builders of the world, finding joy and fulfillment in their work. Generators have a strong life force energy that attracts opportunities and allows them to excel in their chosen field. However, they may struggle with burnout and frustration if they are not aligned with their passions and interests. By embracing their energy type, generators can tap into their natural vitality and find fulfillment by doing work that aligns with their authentic selves.
Type 4: Projectors are people who specialize in seeing and guiding others. They have a unique ability to offer insights and perspectives that can help others navigate their lives more efficiently and effectively. Projectors thrive when they are in a role of service and support, rather than taking on a leadership or action-oriented role. By embracing their energy type, projectors can cultivate their gift of guidance and create meaningful impact by assisting others in reaching their goals.
Type 5: Reflectors are the rarest energy type, making up only 1% of the population. They are highly intuitive and empathetic, able to feel and mirror the energy of those around them. Reflectors have the unique ability to reflect back to others their true selves and provide valuable insights. However, they may struggle with maintaining a consistent sense of identity and energy. By embracing their energy type, reflectors can embrace their fluidity and adaptability, allowing them to serve as powerful mirrors for others.
Using Strategy & Authority to Get Less Resistance and More Ease
Strategy and authority are two key elements in human design that have the power to change lives. According to Jenna, understanding and implementing these concepts can lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful existence, as well as helping you make things happen and make decisions!
The concept of strategy refers to the way in which each energy type approaches and manifests their desires and goals. Jenna emphasizes that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to achieving success. Instead, each energy type has a unique way of making things happen.
This challenges the traditional notion of reaching out to a large number of people or following a predetermined path. By understanding their energy type’s strategy, individuals can align themselves with their natural flow and achieve their goals more effectively.
In our conversation, Jenna specifically mentions the strategy for a manifesting generator (since that’s my type!), which is to respond. This means that manifesting generators should ONLY engage in activities or projects that they have a physical, visceral “yes” to.
Additionally, Jenna teaches the concept of authority, which is a key factor in decision-making. Each energy type has a different type of intuition or inner knowing that guides their choices.
Some individuals have emotional intuition, where their feelings and moods play a significant role in decision-making. Others have gut intuition, which is a clear yes or no response. There are also those who have splenic authority, where they receive instinctual messages without knowing the reasoning behind them.
Understanding one’s authority and how it speaks to them is crucial for making decisions that align with their true desires and purpose. By tapping into our intuition and trusting our inner guidance beyond our logical minds, we can make choices that lead to a more fulfilling and authentic life.
