You may have caught glimpses of pictures of me all dolled up and glamorous – that’s because I got to spend the day in girly heaven on my recent trip to Seattle. I’ll be sharing some of the images Nikki took of me, but before that I wanted to share a little behind the scenes fun of my time at her studio in Gig Harbor. Nikki Closser Photography is a glamour portrait studio that specialized in making women look and feel beautiful. I met Nikki almost exactly a year ago when I flew to Seattle to hang out on the set of CreativeLIVE and ever since we have kept in touch and encouraged one another in a life filled with dream chasing.
It might feel vain to get photos taken of yourself but as a photographer, it was something I knew I had to do. We are usually the last ones to get in front of a camera, let alone feel good about being on that side of the lens. With Nikki, I knew that she would make us look pretty and I truly believe every woman deserves a photo of herself that reminds her that she is truly beautiful, just the way she is. 25 was a really great year for me, I want to remember this time in my life. Nikki is the goddess of posing, making people laugh, and bringing out your inner top model. (Ahem, Tyra Banks, this girl can get just about anyone to smile with their eyes.) In support of her dream, we showed up at her studio (aka girly heaven) and sipped lattes, caught up on life, got our hair and make up done by the lovely Kendra, and soaking up every moment of being surrounded by colorful layers of tulle. I can’t wait to share more of this experience and reveal a few of the photos Nikki took super soon.
