I have never, ever put together a recap post for two reasons: I can’t even begin to choose favorites and the thought of pouring through 30 full wedding galleries feels nothing but daunting. This year, I thought it was fitting to celebrate thirty incredible couples and share a little peek of what my summer months looked like. 2014 was a wedding season that started on the beaches of Puerto Rico and ended on the beaches of San Francisco. It was a year that had me climbing mountains, hitting the road, exploring new cities, and spending time in the country. It held 30 incredible, unique, and unforgettable weddings. Beyond the beautiful weddings that took up my weekends were the people behind the events. Forget about the flowers and the dresses, the eyelashes and the centerpieces – this year held incredible people with the biggest, most beautiful hearts. This year was pivotal for me. It was a year when I found my groove, established my place in this industry, and dreamed a little harder. It held longs days and nights behind a computer screen and it pushed me to find a greater balance. Every single weekend I was celebrating with the people people who’s images are above.
As I curated this post I relived moments that made me laugh, cry, and laugh until I cried. You see, weddings are far more than event. They are an imperfect day where imperfect people promise to take on life together. It’s a day when families and friends gather from near and far to support the whispered vows, fill the dance floors, and celebrate all that life has offered to get them to this very point. Weddings aren’t about mason jars or burlap table runners, triple layered cakes, or perfect high heels, they are about the people who are celebrating love, life, and all that will come with it. I am forever overflowing with gratitude and dance moves when I look at these precious times captured in bright imagry.
To my clients: Thank you, from the bottom of this very heart, thank you for choosing me to document your day. Thank you for trusting me with your priceless memories and your treasured moments. Thank you for seeing beyond the wedding pressure and for knowing that I might pop a dance move at the end of it all. Thank you for the thank you cards, the packages in the mail, the encouraging emails, and most of all, your friendship. I am eternally bonded to each and every one of you and I am indebted to have spent such a precious day behind the scenes doing life with you as you said I do. I hope these images jump from the screen and into your heart as they do for me, I hope they remind you that real, honest love is where it’s at and I hope that you can look at these images and relive the day that you promised forever. Life isn’t perfect, your marriage won’t be perfect, and your wedding wasn’t perfect but it sure was beautiful. Let these be a reminder of all of the blessings that 2014 held. I can’t wait to watch you grow and evolve, learn and change, but most of all I can’t wait to watch you adventure through life together. You all have my whole heart forever.
I have two spots remaining for the 2015 wedding season, I hope to fill them with amazing couples, so if you know of anyone planning a wedding for next year and in need of a new best friend (uhhh, I mean photographer) put them in touch with me!
