What. An. Episode. Guys, we have thee most incredible guest this week, Erin Treloar. This rockstar of a human being founded Raw Beauty Talks- an incredible organization bringing awareness and inspiration to our media use and mindset. It is no secret that social media is affecting body confidence, and that is why Raw Beauty Talks is bringing the humanness back to the internet. She is doing that by focusing on unretouched, nonfiltered living and authentic media use. Erin is also a health coach and aims to give women the confidence and ability to live a confident, fulfilling, balanced life. And, guys, she is changing the world.

Join us as we completely dig into the impact of media and strive to use it for good.

HOW TO RAISE SELF-ESTEEM IN OTHERS (and yourself!):

Build on the foundation of WHO they are. Capitalize on who you are rather than what you look like. Also, don’t underestimate the need to take action– seek out resources that build you up. If you struggle with body image, food, or confidence, seek help. Dont be passive, be bold. Share unretouched photos, be authentic, and be YOU. Be the person that sees the soul of a person, not the shell.

HOW BRANDS LIKE RAW BEAUTY TALK ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Women see themselves in the media. It builds confidence, it stimulates profits (yes, really!), it creates community, and women empowerment! I could go on and on. You guys, brands and statements like this matter because it changes how the women of the world see themselves. Erin tells us that the number 1 thing 11-17 year old girls want to change about themselves is to be thinner… and if that doesn’t hit you right in the feels, I don’t know what will.

We need to change the conversation! Be mindful of how you compliment girls (instead of saying “you are so pretty!” say “you are so smart!” or “you are so capable”) To all the mommas out there, remember that how you talk about yourself and your body impacts the little girls in your life.

YOU are enough. Repeat that to yourself, think about it, and truly believe it. Because that mantra doesn’t just impact you, it impacts the next generation.

HOW TO HARNESS CONFIDENCE:

Choose to embrace each stage. You know when you see a picture of yourself from high school and you’re like “DANG, I had it goin’ on!”… but you didn’t realize it at the time…

Use that as a mindset to embrace each stage you’re in! We look at ourselves under a microscope and but give each other so much grace. Whenever you are feeling down on your looks or body, hold tight to how hard your body is working for YOU. Think of the air in your lungs or the mile walked on your feet or the beautiful sky your eyes allow you to see. Be friends with your body– not an enemy.

Tune in and you’ll quickly understand why I got teary-eyed multiple times during this episode! This Erin Treloar is changing the world and I am SO excited for her words to reach you.

PS: In case you forgot, You. Are. Enough.
