Last weekend I drove to Chicago for a 24 hour whirlwind of a rendezvous that included two sessions, two brunches, a few delicious drinks, new friends, old friends, and not a lot of sleep. The first thing that happened when entering the big city was a reunion with these two, my dear friends, Scott and Erika. Scott lived down the street from me in college and was my athletic trainer, Erika then became my roommate for the year I lived in Madison. We worked crazy jobs, I had a wild commute, and we barely ever saw each other, even though we shared a beautiful apartment. Years have passed but I knew that someday they would get married, it was only a matter of time. I was so excited when I saw that Scott had proposed to Erika over the holidays, I was even more excited when they told me they wanted me to be a part of their big day. (Um, heck yes!)
We battled the cold, wandered through the city, laughed way too much, and finished off the session with a delicious drink and good conversation. The one thing that continues to amaze me is the connections I am able to make and keep all because of a camera. I am so exceptionally honored to be photographing their wedding this year and more honored to serve as a piece of their wedding day. They are such wonderful, hilarious, amazing people and together, they are better. Thank you guys for warming my heart on such a cold day, this year is going to be the best year yet!
