A Modern Milwaukee Art Museum Wedding

As she carefully unwrapped his present complete with a two page letter and a Paris themed travel box, she pulled out her new passport holder and beach hat with “My Someday” stitched in fancy scroll. I watched and had to interrupt, “Excuse me, but what man is THAT thoughtful?” She looked up at me with the brightest eyes and responded, “Cody.” If this first hour with my bride wasn’t foreshadowing for the rest of the day, I’m not sure what was. A day complete with the most memorable, beautiful details around every corner but beyond the incredible florals, thoughtful stationery, and bright decor there were moments that were so tender you could only feel them in the core of your being.

In the hand squeezes, the sideways glances, the teary eyes, and the dance moves lived a day that we all wished could be on repeat. A day that had been in the making for years, years of long distance relationships, overseas travels, a Parisian proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower, years of puppy rearing, and months of dreaming. Alyssa and Cody left every person in their presence with an admiration for their love, an awe for their thoughtfulness, and the desire to cling to every last detail and etch it into our memories for years to come. “My someday” is today, tomorrow, and every day to come, for you two.
