This blog serves as a little taste of documentation of my life, from date nights to deep thoughts to sessions I tend to share a bit of my story so that you can get to know me. I tell you all the fun and pretty things that happen but today I thought we would make it a bit more fun… I’m getting real and sharing a few fun facts that your probably didn’t know about me. Yes I had some mega awkward days in my past from my first pair of glasses to my pretty multicolored braces… we all had them and although we try to pretend that we have always been this awesome, the proof lies in the pudding…. or in my case, the boxes of old photographs. The kind that make me want to hide in a closet or wear a hat and sunglasses out in public to not be recognized. Oh well, here we go… buckle up, this one’s a doozy.

1.) I won most accident prone in my graduating class: along with best sweet talker…. but seriously, it wasn’t that I was the girl who would trip over nothing it was because I was constantly breaking bones. I was literally in a cast six times my senior year due to foot injuries and problems. The first day of school, snowball formal, prom, my birthday, graduation…. yeah, I rocked a foot cast and trust me, they weren’t just plain old casts… I bedazzled them. I seriously used a hot glue gun and craft store gems and made them pretty… Not to mention I went to prom in a wheel chair and I rocked it out. I may have been accident prone but I was seriously stylish.

2.) I was a gymnast: my childhood memories are filled with memories of a chalky gym and tiny sequined leotards. From the age of three I was hooked and my addiction followed me through my years. I met my best friends in the gym, spent summers doing workouts, and somehow mastered a crazy schedule for a young girl. Looking back, those were my glory days and some of my best memories. I realize now how much my parents sacrificed to allow me to chase those gymnastics dreams. We worked out for crazy hours, travelled on the weekends, and even had sleepovers at the gym, it was our home away from home and it houses some of my most precious childhood moments. If it wasn’t for my love of gymnastics, I would have never gotten into diving…

3.) I hate showering: okay, this is a weird one. I told you I was going to get real… it must be the fact that I spent many years with wet hair from being in a pool… I am pretty sure my entire college career smelled of chlorine and wet hair. I hate showering, not because I don’t like to be clean (I do.) I absolutely dread having wet hair…. like I hate it. Thank God for the invention of dry shampoo and the fact that I rarely leave the home… I spent summers camping and roughing it and that lifestyle clearly has followed me into my self-employment days.

4.) I was once in 4H: I may not be able to recite the 4H pledge anymore but there was once a year that I was in this lovely organization. No, we didn’t have horses or cattle… I had a rabbit. (not just any rabbit, I had the fattest rabbit known to man.) Once again, my super supportive parents let me chase my one year long dream of being in 4H and showing my fat rabbit at the fair. After my bunny, Faithy, escaped the night before the fair, all hope was lost. We literally had to catch her with a fishing net as I cried that my dream of showing her at the fair was squashed. Needless to say, we caught her and I got a red ribbon and one amazing photo of me as a tiny girl holding my rabbit that was easily double the size of every other rabbit in the fair.

5.) I was a pre-med major: This one makes me laugh… going into college I claimed “pre-medicine” as my major of choice and had high hopes of becoming a surgeon someday. I am one of those odd people who watches those surgery shows and enjoys them while everyone else is threatening to lose their meals… I wanted to go into medicine and to help people. I even job shadowed a surgeon and loved it (thanks for the hookup mom!) That dream was squashed as quickly as a mosquito on a hot summers night…. I literally changed it right away when I realized that my four years of school would be filled with math and science, surprisingly two of my least favorite subject. Hilarious to think that when I toured my college, I visited all of the bio buildings…. buildings I never set foot into for the four years I was in school.

Alright, that’s all I will share for today – I don’t want to embarrass myself too terribly. Now do me a big favor and leave me something to make me laugh…. something I don’t know about you!
