Pinterest Trends 2025 | Life-First Marketing Strategies for Creators

March 28, 2025

•

This post was created in partnership with Pinterest as part of the Pinterest Educator Program. Yep, that means I get to geek out about one of my favorite platforms and bring you behind the scenes of what’s actually working on Pinterest right now. Let’s dig in.

If you’ve been pinning your heart out on Pinterest and still not seeing real results (think: clicks, email signups, or actual product sales), you’re not alone. One of the biggest frustrations I hear from creators is that they’re “using Pinterest,” but nothing’s really happening.

The truth? It’s not about posting more. It’s about posting smarter.

In 2025, Pinterest isn’t just about pretty Pins… It’s a powerhouse for growth that helps you work less and achieve more. I had been using Pinterest for years. Like most people, I started out pinning recipes I’d never make, dream homes with ten bathrooms, and capsule wardrobes that didn’t match the yoga pants I wore daily.

But when I began using Pinterest strategically, everything shifted.

Pinterest: The Smarter, Simpler Way to Market Your Business

It started when my virtual assistant pointed out that Pinterest isn’t a social media platform. It’s a visual search engine. That insight changed everything. I realized I could connect the exact content I was creating with the people already searching for it. No algorithm guessing games. No pressure to post daily. Just evergreen visibility.

So I got serious about Pinterest, and over time, it became my most consistent organic traffic driver. It fueled my blog, grew my email list, and brought consistent leads to my business.

Then I became a mom. Suddenly, time wasn’t just limited. It felt like it disappeared. Since I didn’t have the energy or bandwidth to create daily Instagram posts, I wasn’t showing up as often (and honestly, I didn’t want to). But while my social reach slowed down, Pinterest didn’t. The Pins I had created months or even years earlier were still being discovered, still sending people to my content, and still converting.

That’s when I fully understood the power of what I teach: life-first marketing. Marketing that respects your time, increases your return on investment, and gives you more life in your day, not more to-dos on your calendar.

If you’re a creator, service provider, or small business owner trying to figure out how Pinterest can work for you (and not just become another platform to keep up with), here’s how to build a smarter, simpler content strategy that actually performs.

Why Your Content Isn’t Getting Results on Pinterest (Yet)

Most creators approach Pinterest the way they use social media. They Pin sporadically, curate pretty boards, and hope something takes off. But Pinterest is not a social platform. It’s a visual search engine.

People come to Pinterest to get inspired, search for solutions, and take action. That means your content needs to be discoverable, intentional, and aligned with the questions your dream clients are asking.

In 2025, Pinterest’s algorithm is powered by AI-enhanced search that understands what users mean, not just what they type. It rewards long-tail, intent-based keywords like “non-toxic skincare for sensitive skin” or “email marketing tips for coaches.”

If your Pins aren’t showing up, it’s likely because your content:

  • Isn’t keyword-optimized for how people search
  • Isn’t clearly connected to an action (like “Save this Pin,” a blog, lead magnet, or product)

Here’s where it gets interesting. While Pinterest prioritizes fresh content, it also gives older, well-performing Pins the opportunity to resurface and shine again. Unlike social platforms where posts disappear in a day, Pinterest gives your content a much longer shelf life. You can absolutely repurpose and optimize existing content to keep it relevant and performing over time.

That’s why a balanced approach is key. Consistently add new content to stay relevant (especially for growing audiences like Gen Z) while also resurfacing high-quality older content to maximize engagement.

Let’s fix the gaps and create a content plan that works harder for you.

What Pinterest Trends Actually Matter in 2025 (And What’s Changed)

Pinterest has evolved. In 2025, Standard and Idea Pins have merged into a single Pin format. That means there’s less to navigate in terms of what kind of Pin to create and more emphasis on the strategy behind the content.

Here’s what’s working now:

  • Fresh Pins with new graphics continue to perform well, even if they link to older content. This helps reach Pinterest’s growing audience (over half a billion monthly users globally), especially Gen Z users who are coming to Pinterest for new ideas and inspiration for their next big moment.
  • Consistency matters more than volume. One to two new Pins per day outperforms sporadic bursts.
  • Keyword clarity beats clever copy. Treat your Pin title like a search headline, not a caption.

Pro tip: Use Pinterest Trends and the auto-suggest feature to see what’s rising before it peaks. This is especially helpful for seasonal content and launches.

A Simple 3-Step Pinterest Marketing Strategy That Performs

Here’s the best part. This doesn’t have to take over your life. The Pinterest strategy we use takes about one hour a week and gives our content a shelf life that is 120 times longer than most social media posts.

Here’s our three-step system:

Step 1: Batch and Repurpose

Start with a blog post, podcast, freebie, or social post. Then, design 3 to 5 Pin graphics for it using Canva templates. Vary:

  • Headlines
  • Design styles
  • Calls to action
  • Featured images or quotes

This creates fresh Pins from one piece of content and helps reach different audience segments with different messaging styles.

Step 2: Optimize with Keywords

Use searchable keywords in:

  • Pin titles and descriptions
  • Board names
  • Your bio and display name

The goal is to speak the language of your audience. Use the terms they’re searching, not just the ones you use in your brand.

Step 3: Schedule and Automate

Use Pinterest’s built-in scheduler or a tool like Tailwind to keep your Pins going out steadily. Even one to two fresh Pins a day can build serious momentum.

Pinterest rewards consistency. Show up regularly instead of posting in bursts.

How to Create Content That Keeps Working Long-Term

Pinterest is one of the few platforms where content gets better with age. A well-optimized Pin can drive clicks, signups, and sales months or even years after it was published.

With updated analytics, you can now see which Pins are driving the most clicks and engagement. Let those high performers guide your content strategy moving forward.

This is the platform where you can work once and let that effort keep working for you.
