Hey you,
I’ve been meaning to write to you for awhile, but life got in the way. Isn’t that funny? Sometimes we have the best intentions but the to-do lists get rather long and the important stuff somehow gets buried way at the bottom of the abyss. But here’s the thing, I see you, and my heart is just aching to reach you today, because if we’re really being honest, running a business is hard work. In fact, it’s so hard that not many people go into it – and stay in it. Many will try and fail, some will lose heart, most will forget why they started in the first place, but that’s them, not you.
So where does that leave you today? Well, you might be sitting here reading this with a guilt knowing that there are a million other things you need to get done. Maybe you are wallowing in self pity, doubt, even fear, or perhaps you’re at the pinnacle of deciding to throw in the towel. Maybe you’re tired of scrolling through perfection yet you’re surrounded by pure chaos. But here’s the thing: entrepreneurship isn’t always pretty, in fact, the day in and out is going to be filled with frustration (but also with moments of triumph.) Even in the mundane, the ugly, there is beauty – beauty in chasing your dreams, beauty in making big things happen, beauty in giving the world a person who has come fully alive.
If you’re reading this and wondering: am I really cut out for this? Why am I doing something that everyone else has already done? When will my “big break” happen? Big breaks seldom happen, it’s more like a small steps in the right direction. Forward is forward. I want you to remember this: where you are is enough, who you are is enough, and what you’re about to do is more than enough (in fact, it’s crazy how enough you are.) Behind the hustle, under the sweat, in those days spent making it happen, you’re busy weaving a story that only you can tell, that only you were born to tell. A story of not just dream chasing but happiness chasing, a pursuit of pure joy, and that, my friend is valid and honorable and just.
Don’t lose heart, you can’t lose heart, the world needs you.
I need you,
Jenna
Ps. If you aren’t already signed up for my Monday pep talks, now is the time. I want you to hear from me weekly and I promise to encourage, push, and help you make it happen, whatever “it” is for you!
