Liz feels like she’s been one of my best friends since third grade. I imagine us growing up together with braces, awkward dresses, and those socks with the beads on them. On her wedding day, I was the extra bridesmaid with the camera. I cried when everyone cried, laughed at the inside jokes, and hugged her like I would never let her go – she was on of the most beautiful brides I have ever laid my eyes on. On Saturday, she got to marry her high school sweetheart, partner in crime, best friend, and counterpart of the last ten years. After doing so much of life together, from high school to college, grown up jobs to big moves, they finally sealed the deal and became husband and wife.
As a pair, they pulled together a group of friends and family that filled the Oconomowoc Lake Club with tears of joy and laughter that could be heard across the lake. I was blown away by the support and love that filled the room, a space that was perfectly decorated with gold and navy accents. Everything about their day was one beautifully curated story that helped share a piece of Liz and Johnny’s history. Each and every detail was perfection and I basked in the beauty that was all around us. Liz and I exchanged a million hugs and hand squeezes throughout the day and I got to watch my (make believe) best friend marry that man who makes her the happiest girl on the planet. Preserving their wedding day through photography was a dream come true, I only wish we could do it a million more times. This one, this wedding, it’s entirely centered around love and impeccably surrounded by beauty. Liz and Johnny, this isn’t the end of our friendship – on the contrary, it’s only the beginning. I am seeing lots of Sunday brunches and weekends in Chicago in our near future, let’s make it happen.

Love Love Love this! The day was perfect! These photographs are beautiful! What a great day and great memories! I’m so proud to have been a part of it! Thank you for including us!
Jenna, thank you so very much for your kind words and for your expert and sensitive handling of this project. Your photos and slide show captured the essence of the event – and each participant in it – with such refined skill that I can literally feel the love between all of us; seeing your photos after the fact takes my breath away. (Riveted on the ceremony, I was too caught up in the experience to fully realize you were nearby, and yet there we are, having a sacred moment all over again…) I can’t imagine it’s possible to create a lovelier representation of a transcendently happy event. My love to you for doing this wonderful thing for us.
