Summer is in full swing and as we spend less time on our phones and more time IRL, sometimes it can cause us to rethink our goals, or life’s mission, and our impact.
If you find yourself realizing that you’re feeling stuck or unsure of where to go next, I can’t WAIT to introduce you to Jessica Zweig: a serial entrepreneur who’s founded three businesses, and recently sold her personal branding agency, SimplyBe.
Host of her top-ranked podcast, The Spiritual Hustler, Jessica is a highly sought-after speaker for companies like Google and Nike, a leader of a global community of spiritual women and hosts sold-out retreats on business, branding and spirituality across the world.
And her brand new book, THE LIGHT WORK: Reclaim Your Feminine Power, Live Your Cosmic Truth, Illuminate the World, hits shelves in August!
Today, we’re discussing how to stay in alignment with yourself and your calling, Jessica’s tips for knowing when it’s time to move on from your current situation and step into a new identity, how we can check in with ourselves to find out if we’re really honoring our current calling, and so much more.
Jessica is truly the embodiment of a Spiritual Hustler and I think everyone can benefit from her message.
Now let’s dive into our conversation, shall we?!
Embracing Authenticity and Evolution
Okay, I’ll admit… I kicked off the interview with a heavy-hitting question! I said:
“Jessica, you and I have been through so many different evolutions in the last decade. And I feel like something that you said really stuck with me and I’ve literally been clinging onto it, especially in this iteration of my life. And you said something where you said, I hit a place where I had to acknowledge that the past versions of me were authentic, but they were no longer aligned.
Let’s start there because I think so many people that are listening can really resonate with that: like, I am no longer who I once was, but I don’t necessarily know how to find alignment. And I feel like you are so good at that.”
Jessica then highlighted the importance of acknowledging our past selves as authentic but recognizing when they are no longer aligned with our current path. She shared her personal evolution from building a business centered around authenticity to realizing the need for a deeper alignment that goes beyond just being authentic.
She also emphasized the significance of honoring our past identities while allowing ourselves to evolve and let go of what no longer serves us. She even said we have to let our past identities “die” in order to make room for something new. It was such a powerful moment!
The Shift from Masculine to Feminine Energy
We then delved into the concept of masculine and feminine energies, clarifying that they are not gender-specific but represent different values and frequencies.
Jessica defined masculine energy as representing values such as linear thinking, assertion, externalized worth, confidence, forward action, negotiation, advocacy, knowing one’s worth, problem-solving, and other qualities essential for success in business.
On the other hand, Jessica defined feminine energy as representing values like stillness, intuition, compassion, beauty, play, pleasure, sensuality, and other qualities that both men and women can benefit from.
Jessica shared her journey of transitioning from operating solely in masculine energy in her business to embracing a more feminine, intuitive approach. And she emphasized the importance of balancing both energies to thrive as successful businesswomen while staying true to our feminine essence!
Hustling for Meaning, Not Just Money
When I was listening to Jessica’s podcast recently, I had to ask about something she says in her podcast intro. She said, “a spiritual hustler doesn’t hustle for money, you hustle for meaning.”
So, I asked, “What does that look like in your life and the lives of those in your community?”
In response, Jessica emphasized the importance of finding purpose and joy in our work beyond just financial success. She shared her personal experience of going broke and how it led her to reevaluate her priorities, focusing on creating a life filled with meaning, joy, and abundance.
As a true Spiritual Hustler, Jessia encouraged us to shift our mindset from hustling for survival to hustling from a place of love, trust, and service.
The Power of Quiet Space and Self-Reflection
Toward the end of our discussion, we chatted about the significance of creating quiet space in our lives to connect with ourselves and do the deeper inner work. Jessica shared practical tips, such as color-coding her calendar to prioritize balance, setting boundaries, and incorporating daily practices like meditation and journaling.
She emphasized the importance of devoting time to our well-being and listening to our inner guidance to cultivate a sense of peace and alignment.
Jessica’s book focuses on embracing both the light and dark aspects of our lives to facilitate transformation and growth. She highlighted the beauty of exploring our shadows, facing our fears, and finding the courage to step into our light.
I loved speaking with Jessica because she believes that true success lies in embracing our authenticity, finding alignment, and pursuing meaning and joy in all aspects of our lives… and I have to agree!
