One of the things I cherish most about The Goal Digger Podcast is the opportunity to connect with brilliant, passionate entrepreneurs who are chasing their dreams while navigating unique challenges.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of coaching Diana Toronto, a business and marketing coach who helps ADHD entrepreneurs scale their businesses.

But like many creative entrepreneurs, Diana has been struggling with focus. With so many ideas and unfinished projects, she finds herself spinning her wheels instead of making the progress she desires.

Sound familiar? If you’ve ever felt pulled in a million directions, started new projects before finishing old ones, or struggled to narrow down your focus, this episode is for you.

Together, Diana and I dive into how to stay committed, simplify your offers, and scale without feeling overwhelmed. Let’s dive in!

Overcoming Perfectionism with Progress Over Perfection

Perfectionism is one of the biggest roadblocks for entrepreneurs, especially those with ADHD.

We want things to be polished and perfect before we launch, but waiting for perfection often means we never start at all. I shared one of my favorite mindset shifts with Diana: the Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule), which teaches us that 80% of our results come from just 20% of our efforts.

This principle applies to many aspects of business. Whether it’s launching a new offer, refining marketing strategies, or even writing emails, spending endless hours perfecting something that doesn’t move the needle forward can drain both time and energy.

The key is identifying the high-impact tasks that drive the best results and putting more energy into those. I encouraged Diana to analyze her work and focus on what truly matters: serving her audience and growing her business, rather than getting stuck in minor details.

Want to dive deeper into Pareto’s Principle? Tune in to Episode 832: The One Principle Every Entrepreneur Must Master to Maximize Results!

The key takeaway here is to prioritize progress over perfection. Instead of obsessing over making something perfect, focus on the impact your work can create!

Remember: small, imperfect actions over time lead to massive results.

How to Stay Focused When You Have Too Many Ideas

Diana’s biggest challenge? Shiny Object Syndrome. (And trust me: no judgement here!)

She has so many ideas that she jumps from one to the next before finishing what she starts. This is common for creative entrepreneurs, but there’s a way to work with your brain rather than against it.

Here’s my best advice: When you get excited about a new idea, commit to seeing it through before moving on to the next thing. I also recommend structuring projects with clear start and end dates.

For example, instead of launching an open-ended podcast, commit to 10 episodes and evaluate from there. Having a natural “off-ramp” keeps you from feeling trapped and ensures you complete projects before chasing the next exciting idea.

Another strategy is keeping a dedicated “Idea Parking Lot.” When a new idea pops into your head, instead of immediately jumping on it, write it down in a dedicated journal or digital document. Revisit these ideas periodically and evaluate whether they still excite you.

Often, some ideas lose their initial appeal over time, while others stand out as truly worth pursuing. This simple habit can help curb impulsive decision-making and allow you to focus on executing your current priorities.

How to Choose the Right Offer to Focus On

With so many passions and ideas, how do you know which offer is “the one” to focus on?

I encouraged Diana to take a forensic-style inventory of her existing offers and assess which ones have already proven to be valuable. Too often, entrepreneurs spend 90% of their time creating new offers and only 10% marketing them.

I challenged Diana to flip this ratio—spend more time promoting what’s already built instead of constantly creating something new.

When evaluating an offer, ask yourself:

  1. Has this offer already generated results for past clients or customers?
  2. Does it align with my long-term vision and business goals?
  3. Can I improve or repurpose this offer rather than starting from scratch?

By asking these questions, you can identify which offers deserve more attention. Marketing and refining an existing offer is often far easier than constantly building something new from the ground up.

Goal Digger, you might be sitting on a goldmine! Instead of creating something new, invest in marketing and refining what you already have. Successful businesses thrive on iteration and improvement, not constant reinvention.

Making a Smooth Transition from 1:1 Coaching to a Group Program

Diana loves her 1:1 coaching clients but finds her VIP days exhausting. She’s looking for a way to transition from intensive VIP days to a more scalable model, like a group coaching program.

My suggestion? Instead of immediately launching something new, tweak the VIP day format first. I asked her: Could you break it into two half-days? Add structured breaks? Modify it to work with, rather than against, your energy levels?

Once you’ve optimized your current offer, a natural transition is to invite existing 1:1 clients into a small group program. This way, you’re not starting from scratch but rather building on something that’s already working!

By running a small beta group first, you can gather feedback and refine the experience before scaling to a larger audience.

I always recommend that when transitioning to a group model, you should start with your existing clients before scaling to a wider audience.

How to Stay Committed and Disciplined as an ADHD Entrepreneur

Many entrepreneurs (especially those with ADHD) struggle with discipline and consistency. My secret? Systems and structure.

It may sound counterintuitive, but creating repeatable processes actually frees up your creativity. When you’re not constantly reinventing the wheel, you have more space to innovate and grow.

One of the biggest shifts for me was working one month ahead in my content, marketing, and launches. This eliminates last-minute stress and allows me to show up in my business with more ease and intention.

Planning ahead also removes decision fatigue. When you already know what needs to be done, you can spend more energy on execution rather than figuring out what’s next!

My recommendation for any business owner with ADHD is to implement simple systems and work ahead to reduce stress and free up your creative energy. Batch working, automation, and pre-planning will create more room for creativity!

Final Thoughts: Focus, Simplify, and Scale with Intention

If you’ve been feeling scattered in your business, I hope this episode gives you the clarity you need to focus, simplify, and scale with intention.

Diana left our coaching session with a clear game plan:

  • Shift from perfectionism to progress-first thinking
  • Structure projects with clear start and end dates to avoid burnout
  • Audit existing offers and focus on marketing what’s already working
  • Tweak, rather than eliminate, offers that feel unsustainable
  • Use systems and batch working to build consistency and discipline

If you could relate with Diana’s struggles, let’s ditch the shiny object syndrome and build businesses that serve us instead of exhausting us!
