Goal Diggers, today we are chatting to the brains behind an Instagram account that we have ALL probably followed and swooned over at one point or another. Stacy Stahl is the founder and brains behind HowHeAsked.com – the digital destination for all things marriage proposal.

With hundreds of thousands of love-obsessed readers and more than a half a million Instagram followers, How He Asked provides a platform for couples to share their engagement stories. As if growing a mega-successful blog and brand isn’t awesome enough,  Stacy is a FORCE. The way she talks is captivating and tangible, and today she is walking you through 1) How to start (and monetize!) a blog 2) Where to invest money in your business and 3) How to prioritize your next step and day-to-day activities.

Today, Stacy is going to tell us the details of growing a huge Instagram following, what it was like starting a business at a young age, and knowing when to move on with your career! This Episode is full of SO MUCH goodness, and I can’t wait for you all to hear from the wonderful Stacy!

(Like, seriously. Grab a notebook and a pen- you’re going to need it!)

FIND THE MARKET:

Stacy mentioned that she had gone to a friend’s engagement in another state, and when she returned to work, all of her co-workers (who had zero connection to Stacy’s friend!) were asking how’d he ask?! Checked all the boxes: of who she was as a person, her skill-set, and it just “felt right”.

START ON THE SIDE:

I asked Stacy what the beginning “looked like” and I loved hearing how adaptable and how “scrappy” she was in getting the ball rolling. Stacy and I both related to starting our businesses young was “on one hand it’s joyful to see where I came from, and on the other, it’s so embarrassing”. But it worked- and it serves its purpose (How easy it is to forget!). Goal Diggers, done is better than perfect. She started with one story and started fishing- asking friends, friends of friends, and just reaching out to people online for their engagement stories so she could share them. Just be grateful for every step- because if you think you’re going to get to point Z day 1 you absolutely won’t!

THE MOMENT YOU REALIZE THIS IS A BUSINESS:

don’t get lost in the passion. “As much as I love proposals, I love efficiency more”. Low effort, high impact mindset. Example: if you look at your to-do list, rank them effort (low, medium, or high) and rank them by impact (low, medium, or high). Use this to decide where you want to invest in your business. I looked at the things that were high impact and focused on those–Removing the ‘big heavy things that you feel like you have to do” frees you up to focus on what matters. Stacy refers to this as the “path of least resistance”, and I just call it BRILLIANT. (Seriously, I love this lady!)

HOW TO BUILD AND EVOLVE:

I LOVE this segment of the episode. Stacy said so simply what I always long to put into words “This isn’t rocket science- decide what you want and move towards it. It’s really not that complicated- just make a decision and do what you can to move towards it”. Yes! I love how she told you, the listeners, to bet on YOURSELF.Don’t look outward- figure it out on your own. That’s not scary- that’s empowering. “You are your own guide”! Yes, you can ask questions and look at resources, but in the end, bet on yourself.

I also dug into how Stacy SOLD her business baby. And what I loved even more? Hearing the joy in her voice describing this transition! Selling your business doesn’t have to be sad- it can be empowering, freeing, and really move the needle for you in a big way. One thing that really stuck out to me was how she spoke about visualizing what she wanted- she truly, truly, truly believed she could make her business goals come through, and I love that message. I cannot say this enough, Goal Diggers, if you can’t bet on yourself who will?!

Wow, this episode! This is one of those episodes that you will fill a page of notes in the first few minutes-  Stacy shared SO much wisdom in this hour, and I am so sure that this episode with Stacy will transform your business whether it’s just in the idea phase or fully built, Stacy is about to rock your world. You cannot miss it!
