hey drew, thanks for being born.
i am so glad you are alive.
i know you didn’t have much of a choice in it and your sweet mama carried you until you were ready to welcome the world, but boy, i sure am happy you were born 26 sweet years ago. today as we celebrate on the beaches of the dominican republic, i celebrate every drop of wonderful you and that’s enough drops to fill a margarita glass or two… or twelve. i am so honored to ring in another year in your life by your side and even more proud to call you mine forever. this is our third year in a row celebrating a new year of life for you in a different country, a tropical one none the less…. you could say that you are lucky and i luck out on not having to figure out what sort of gift to get you… margaritas are on me today babe, thank me later!
this past year has been a wild one, the funny thing is we haven’t had any bumps in the road.. (maybe a little recalculating in the words of lady garmin) to land on another blessed year. this year you conquered: you consistently excel at your job, you continue to use wine terms that i still don’t understand, and you always ensure our wine rack is constantly filled to the brim. you have been the one pushing me to chase whatever wacky dream i have and you never question if i can do it. you leave me little love notes, bring my flowers, and always kiss me goodnight. i don’t know what the heck i did to deserve a man like you, but i thank my lucky stars every stinking day when i see you.
today is all about you. i am toasting another lovely life of drew with a tropical drink and sand in my toes. we will talk about your dreams, your goals, your ambitions. we will chalk up our successes of the past year and dismiss our shortcomings. time seems to be moving faster every year we are together and we need to stop and take it all in. we have goals and dreams to conquer as a duo and i just have this feeling that 26 is going to be one heck of a year for you. as we relax on vacation, i want you to know how truly blessed i am by you and how seriously grateful i am that i have a spouse that puts up with my crazy antics: not screwing on the toothpaste cap, making you eat vegetarian meals, leaving a pile of clothes in the bathroom… the list goes on. sometimes i question how anyone could vow to spend forever with me, but i am sure glad you did.
i hope that when we are old, senile, and wrinkly. we will smile with our dentures, hold each others hands, and laugh about how simply crazy we were when we were young. cheers to another lovely year of life as mr. kutcher. i certainly love you from the bottom of my heart.
