beauty
“everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
i now believe in kindred spirits… the kind of people that you meet and effortlessly fall into step with, the friend you greet like you saw each other yesterday and don’t even need to catch up on life because you just know whats happening. one of the greatest blessings of this whole photography journey has been the community of other creatives who support and lift each other up. the people who understand that this path isn’t alway easy, who deal with the same type of problems, and who celebrate the victories with you. the kind you have conversations with that sound like you are talking in a foreign language as you talk shop and gear. part of the reason why i was passionate about co-founding a northwoods wedding blog was because i believe in celebrating the journey’s of creatives. in an industry that can, at times, leave you feeling alone, i want to unite us. i believe in bringing people up and sharing their gifts. through that mission i have made a ton of ridiculously amazing photographer friends who just get “it”… whatever it may be, we aren’t sure.
this is how it was with athena. through her submitting to the blog we started daily emails talking life, love, the pursuit of success and random musings of life. we talk about every little detail, we encourage one another, share our thoughts, overcome challenges, and celebrate victories. there is only one word i could use to sum athena up: rad. this chick works hard, loves hard, and plays hard. so when we hung out for what felt like a hot minute, we chatted and snapped our way to happiness. a friendship that had exuded from emails and happened in real life leaving me convinced that we were kindred spirits. there is something so ridiculously special in sharing a conversation with someone who understands the road you are on, who thinks the same thoughts, admires the same people, and who is hopelessly in love with the art of photography. on a trek to find a sweet enough spot we stumbled upon a huge pile of sticks… literally, a brush pile that was simply divine. any other person would pass it not thinking anything, but we loved that pile of sticks… it was perfectly beautiful, just like my sweet friend.
I feel the only thing I have to say is simply…..<3
Love you. xoxo
