The weather was unusually warm and I glanced in the back of the taxi to see Angela’s mom and sister fanning her with big smiles. They grabbed hands and squeezed as they all took in the moment. That’s what wedding days are: not big vow moments or excited dips on the dancefloor but those little moments that happen when no one’s paying attention. The way he brushes her hair behind her ear, those private promises that they made when no one was around, the way dad clings to his baby girl for just a second more.
Angela and Orlando had a day that was full of life, full of celebration, full of love. I’m pretty sure at one point I said, “They are so in love, I wish the world could see this.” It’s the kind of love that inspires you, that reminds you that soul mates exist, and that challenges you to not take life too seriously. As they said “I do” at the Brooklyn winery with 100 of their closet friends and family who traveled from near and far, the Jones’ left us a new thing to keep up with: a love that is authentic, bold, and beautiful.
