Oh, what an adventure the JK team had in the Big Apple! What started out a little rough (in realizing that I mixed up my calendar and arrived a solid 7 days early for my event!) ended with such solid team bonding. After we finished laughing so hard in Kumar’s cab, we went into strategy mode finding a hotel, a spot for dinner, and some supremely delicious cocktails.
As a solo-preneur for the last five years, it’s been such an adventure growing a small work team to help man my empire. It can be lonely and isolating always working alone, so to finally have a team is so empowering and exciting. Three heads are better than one! Inviting these women onto the team isn’t just letting them into my business, they are into my life. Treating them to a little girls getaway and having some solid time to bond was so much fun!
We wandered to Times Square, ate amazing crepes from a food truck, had a few craft cocktails, took the subway to Brooklyn, enjoyed drinks on a rooftop bar, shopped a little, and slept in at the hotel. Caitlyn and Courtney both bring new things to the table and I am so thankful to finally be a real “girlboss!” I am so looking forward to more time with these ladies and to moving onward and upward with my brunette team in the upcoming year.
